Fellow Houston Firefighters,

            I am a firefighter/paramedic at station 49 and have started a website for Houston firefighters.  The site www.houstonfirefighters.org is place to talk about issues affecting Houston firefighters.  Talk about the upcoming contract, talk about retirement issues, post pictures, find a rider, and much more.  

            The site has been up for just over a week and has over 60 members including many firefighters from 67's and 68's, captains, chiefs, OEC, and arson.  For the site to reach full potential we need more firefighters to join so I ask you to please tell the members at your stations about the site.  

            There are areas of the site which are only viewable to members and the contract area is only viewable to active and retired Houston Firefighters.   Because of the latter it takes me about 1 day to add the new member to the "allowed" list so they can post in the contract area.
